If you’re new to get-ups, start here! 📍
This is the step by step, easy to follow tutorial on the kettlebell Turkish getup you’ve been looking for.
Now that we’ve fixed 30 (!!) common problems with the get-up in our five-part troubleshooting series, it’s time to learn the full get-up, soup to nuts.
Here are two important pointers for when you’re first learning the get-up:
🎈 Practice it unweighted first – no bell.
👟 Then, practice it with a shoe balanced on your fist.
It’s key to learn the positions and transitions before you add weight. If you load your get-up with a kettlebell before you’ve learned the basic steps, you could put your shoulders, joints, and overall safety at risk.
Respect the kettlebell! Learn the movement first, then do it with a bell.
